Germany Claim First Win Against Serbia

GERMANY VS SERBIA

The second day in Classification Group G saw Germany claim their first win, 59-54 over Serbia, putting the Serbian hopes to keep their place in Division A in danger.

It was a match-up between two great players and Germany's Emma Stach, with 26 points and 14 rebounds, shined brightest, making Germany rejoin the fight for maintenance.

For the Serbians, Aleksandra Crvendakic had 26 points, while grabbing nine rebounds.

During the entire match, Serbia led only for less than four minutes, and never by more than two points.

Germany dominated in the paint, winning the rebound duel 50-44, and will make the Serbian side even more nervous before they match-up against Turkey on Wednesday.

 

ENGLAND VS TURKEY

Turkey's life was harder than expected, with England standing in their way during an entire match that the Turkish finally won 66-59.

The two teams played an even game, presenting good shooting numbers and very balanced frontcourts, which kept the game alive in the University Sports Hall.

Selale Kepenc finished with 15 points and seven rebounds, while her Turkish teammate Melis Gulcan contributed 14 points.

Rhianna-Mae Lang was England's top scorer with 14 points.
